Room 1 | The Zephaniah Platt Room

The Zephaniah Platt Room has scenic views, a queen bed, private bathroom with shower and smart TV. There is also controlled air conditioning and heat. Maximum of two guests.

The room is named for Zephaniah Platt, who in 1784 gave the present Valcour site, plus additional acreage to Nathaniel Platt. It remained in the Platt family until 1865.

Room 2 | The Port Jackson Room

The Port Jackson Room is a corner room facing north and east, with views of Valcour Island and the Green Mountains. It opens onto the shared second-floor balcony where you can relax and enjoy the lake breezes. Guests can enjoy beautiful sunrises on Lake Champlain with a hot cup of coffee in our Adirondack chairs.

King bed, large private bath with double vanity sink, tub and shower, smart TV and large closet. There is also controlled air conditioning and heat. Maximum of two guests.

In 1865, a section of the northern portion of the Valcour property was called Port Jackson Wharf. It was a busy port of call on Lake Champlain for ships and ferries in the mid-19th century.

Room 3 | The Champlain Room

The Champlain Room is a large guest room that opens onto the comfortably furnished, shared second-floor balcony with views east to Lake Champlain and the Green Mountains; so the whole family can enjoy the lake breeze and mountain views! It is centrally located in the Inn. One queen bed and one full bed, private bath with shower, smart TV, and closet space. There is also controlled air conditioning and heat. A rollaway bed may be placed in this room (extra charges apply). Maximum of five guests.

Room 4 | The Valcour Suite

The Valcour Suite is our largest guest room, with views of Lake Champlain east and south from its many windows. It overlooks Lake Champlain and Vermont’s Green Mountains as well as the Inn’s South lawn.

Step out your door onto the second floor balcony and the panorama is spectacular. Whether you are enjoying a morning coffee and breakfast or an evening drink with a snack, you will find peace and comfort in the Valcour Suite.

Features a king canopy bed, fireplace, beautifully furnished sitting area, newly renovated master bath with a walk-in rain shower, and smart TV. There is also controlled air conditioning and heat. Access to furnished balcony. A rollaway bed may be placed in this room (extra charges apply). Maximum of three guests.

Room 5 | The Sibley Room

The Sibley Room offers beautiful scenic views of the Inn’s South lawn. The light from the sunrise pours into this room and is a beautiful backdrop for a private getaway. It sleeps two with one queen bed, private bath with tub/shower and smart TV. There is also controlled air conditioning and heat. One rollaway bed may be placed in this room (extra charges apply). Maximum of three guests.

The room is named for Congressman Joseph Crocker Sibley and his wife Ida Rew Sibley who acquired the Valcour property in 1904 and owned it until 1915. The Sibley’s built the Boathouse between 1905 and 1910 to accommodate their private yacht.

Room 6 | The Heathcote Room

This room is located a few steps down from the main wing. It is a smaller bedroom and most comfortable for single guests or couples. Guests in this room have access to the patio facing Lake Champlain and Vermont. It has a full-size bed and smart TV. There is also controlled air conditioning and heat. The private bathroom with tub and shower is not located inside the room, but just outside the bedroom door. Maximum of two guests.

The Heathcote Room is named after Josephine Sibley Heathcote, who took over the property in 1944.

Room 7 | The John L Rey Room

This room is located a few steps down from the main wing. It is a smaller bedroom and most comfortable for single guests or couples. It has a queen bed, smart TV and large closet. The private bathroom with shower is not located inside the room, but just outside the bedroom door. Guests in this room have access to the patio facing Lake Champlain and Vermont. There is also controlled air conditioning and heat. Maximum of two guests.

The John L. Rey Room is named for the longtime Valcour groundskeeper who created magnificent gardens for the Sibley family.

Room 8 | The George W Angell Room

The George W. Angell Room offers two twin beds in a charmingly-decorated space, with a flat-screen tv. The room also has a closet and can comfortable accommodate two guests. Guests in this room have access to the patio facing Lake Champlain and Vermont. Located in our South Wing, the bathroom is just down the hall. This room is only available when booking the entire property, the entire South Wing, or upon special request. Please call to make your reservation.

The room is named after Dr. George W. Angell, who was the sixth president of SUNY Plattsburgh. Throughout his career, he focused on expanding educational opportunities for students, especially international students. By the time he retired, he had developed and implemented a plan that revolutionized Plattsburgh from a small, teacher-training institution to a multi-faceted college of arts and sciences.

Room 9 | The Wilson Room

The Wilson Room offers scenic views with two twin beds in a lovely room with a flat-screed tv and closet. Also located in our South Wing, the bath is just down the hall. This room will comfortably accommodate two guests. This room is only available when booking the entire property, the entire South Wing, or upon special request. Please call to make your reservation.

The room is named after Celia Sibley Wilson. Mrs. Wilson inherited the property from her parents in 1915. At the time, the property was known as 'The Wilson Estate'.

CANCELLATION POLICY: As a small inn with limited availability, we cannot absorb the cost of last minute cancellations. If you need to cancel your room reservation, we ask that you let us know as soon as possible. For cancellations made seven or more days before your arrival, we will provide a full refund. If your cancellation is less than seven days prior to your arrival, your payment is 50% refundable. If your cancellation is within 48-hours of check-in, your payment is nonrefundable. This policy is in effect for all reservations made after June 26, 2023.
